SEE Link cooperation with ATHEX
SEE LINK will cooperate with Athens Exchange for the execution of cross border transactions in the countries of southeast Europe.
The particular cooperation will provide to Members of the Exchanges participating in SEE Link platform the opportunity to execute transactions in the Athens Exchange market. Additionally, the markets of the platform will be accessible via X-Net network.
SEE Link became operational at the end of the March 2016 with the support of EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and constitutes an effort for cooperation among the Exchanges of the southeast Europe. This initiative has been joined by the Exchanges of Sofia, Zagreb, Belgrade, Banja Luka, Ljubljana and Skopje whereas the exchange of Sarajevo is under way of joining. The main goal is the expansion of the investment alternatives offered to the investors of the participating countries, through cross border transactions, while, in the same time, the markets participating will be able to attract liquidity from the other countries of the region in a more effective way.
According to the plan, implementation will start directly with the aim of the aforementioned services to be available in the first quarter of 2018.
A total of
32 investment companies (brokerage houses) are licensed to trade via SEE Link. In addition, members of the Banja Luka Stock Exchange are currently in the process of obtaining membership for trading via SEE Link. The system aims to increase liquidity and improve access for investors and local brokers
